Q: Can you tell us a little bit about what your role at Retail by CRS and what your typical day looks like?
A: My role at CRS is pretty simple and easy, and I’m loving it every day. I program, develop and execute valuable ideas that come from my team members. Software development and programming is what I love to do, especially at CRS, because providing local supported and developed solutions is number one on our list, then everything else. Also the bond between CRS and our client is amazing, friendly, respectful and understandable.
Q: Outside of your work life, what kind of things are you interested in? Do you have any hobbies or side projects that you’re passionate about?
A: Outside my work life is with my kid’s life. Sometimes I enjoy being a kid with my kids – takes me away from reality – until I realize that I’m stuck in kids size castle house. My life changed completely last year, and I’m still trying to re-sync the way it was with my regular activities, hobbies etc. My father was, in my opinion, too much of care giver for family and for everyone else throughout all the years. And to be honest, all was for nothing. So that’s why I don’t do any favors, volunteering or anything like that to. Don’t scratch my back and I wont scratch yours(That’s the reality in my opinion). Lol. I will still help out when I can and when I’m able to, and I will ask for help when I need to but will not get offended if there is no help available. My vacation is almost always at least couple weeks long (thank you CRS). The reason is because I like to travel with my family, enjoy different places in Canada, Europe and Mexico, hope more places to be on the list. Traveled across Europe many times and its getting better each time I traveling with family, while before…was also fun 😉.
I like working on my own cars and enjoying the speed (at appropriate places). Anything that is broken, I will always attempt to fix it before replacing it with new, I just want to explore on how it works and repair it, then enjoy the success if any. I’m big fan of motorsport racing, F1 racing is mostly what I watch, and I never skip a live race, even if its at 6am with the time zones.
Special thank you to my wife, the providerdeveloper of our two kids that make me happy each day. Also, my wife got me into drinking coffee, and I love it, that’s the only reason Mondays exist on my calendar.
Q: What inspired you to pursue your career path and what kind of advice would you give to someone aspiring to be in your field?
A: My father and mother inspired, supported and provided me all the resource to get to where I am right now. My parents always used to say “We will work hard so you can work smart”, and took me about 8 years to realize what that means lol. I may be lucky with the way my parents provided me with everything to have a successful career but regardless I would advise not to give up on something you love to do. Yes, failures will happen multiple times, and I usually change course after third fail because repeating the same thing more than 3 times with no success is when I realize it’s not for me and not worth it.
Q: If you could swap roles with someone for just one day – either within the company or outside of the industry – what would it be and why?
A: Hmm…I don’t really have anything special…but it would be data analysis within any F1 team. Collecting and analyzing past data of anything can provide most accurate success in the future.
Q: Tell us a surprising fact about you that your coworkers don’t already know.
A: I speak German, and I know how to read Cyrillic
